Smith & Wesson is a manufacturer of high quality firearms and accessories. The company was founded in 1852 by Horace Smith & D.B. Wesson. The two built a partnership to produce a firearm that can fire a sealed, self contained cartridge. In 1854 the company developed the .41 magazine pistol called "The Volcanic". It was the first repeating American made firearm capable of utilizing a self contained round or cartridge. Smith& Wesson went on to create the Model 1 revolver that used a practical cartridge which began a outward trend of percussion style firearms. Fast forward through the years and Smith & Wesson has created high quality and innovative firearms that have stood the test of time. Their popular revolver model is the Model 29. The Model 29 is famous for its use in the film "Dirty Harry" by actor Clint Eastwood, the model 29 is a 44 magnum double action revolver available in different barrel lengths. The company produces small J frame revolvers for concealed carry all the way to big bore versions like the S&W 500. The company also produces semi auto pistols and rifles under the M&P line. The M&P pistols are polymer framed and striker fired, and the AR style tactical rifles are chambered in .22lr, 5.56x45mm, 7.62x51 NATO, and 6.5 Creedmoor.
