Spyderco is a manufacturer of high quality knives. The company was founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. In 1978, the couple moved to Colorado and began selling their first product: The Tri-Angle Sharpmaker which for the most part was sold at fairs and trade shows. In 1981, the company produced their first folding knife called the C01 Worker. That design pioneered the idea and concept of a round hole in the blade made for one handed operation as well as a clip on the handle to carry in the pocket.
