The Mossberg 930 Tactical 8 Shot SPX is a semi-automatic auto-loading shotgun perfect for home defense. All Mossberg 930 Special Purpose shotguns have a self-regulating gas system that vents excess gas to help reduce recoil and decrease stress on important components. From target loads to non-toxic magnum loads to the latest sabot slug ammo, all 930 autoloaders chamber both 2.75-inch and 3-inch 12-gauge shotshells with ease. Versions with an extended magazine tube have a magazine capacity of up to 7+1, while models without have a capacity of 4+1. To round out the package, each Mossberg 930 comes with a set of specially designed spacers for easy adjustment of the horizontal and vertical angle of the stock, giving each shooter a bespoke feel and fit. Safety and ease of use are critical with special-purpose guns, and the 930 was designed with that in mind. The receiver-mounted safety is useful for both right and left-handed users. To remove the weapon from the safe, press the button forward. A cocking-indicator button protrudes from the front inner edge of the trigger guard, making it simple to see and feel when the weapon is cocked or uncocked. The Mossberg EZ-Empty technology has also made unloading more convenient. By depressing the bolt release and removing the first shotshell from the magazine, the carrier can be raised up. Simply keep doing this until the magazine is empty. All 930 Special Purpose models come with a drilled and tapped receiver that is ready for Picatinny rail, scope base, or optics installation from the factory. 930 SPX variants come standard with a factory-installed Picatinny rail and an LPA/M16-style Ghost Ring combo sight. A basic front bead or white-dot front sights are two other sighting alternatives.
