Massachusetts State Restrictions

RIFLES
Permitted:
- Bolt action rifles
- Pump action rifles
- Lever action rifles
- .22LR rifles with fixed tubular magazines have no round-count restrictions.
Prohibited:
- Semi-automatic rifles.
SHOTGUNS
Permitted:
- Pump action shotguns
- Over / under shotguns
- Single-shot shotguns
- Side-by-side shotguns
Prohibited:
- No semi-automatic / defense / box-fed shotguns.
HANDGUNS
Permitted:
- Only handguns on the Massachusetts Approved Handgun Roster are permitted
ACCESSORIES/AMMUNITION
Prohibited:
- No magazines exceeding 10 rounds
- No ammunition or ammunition components. No stun guns or TASERs
- No defense sprays
LEO EXEMPTIONS
There are currently no exemptions to the restrictions for individual Law Enforcement Officers except for purchasing stun guns, TASERs, and defense sprays.
