The Weatherby Vanguard Badlands is a premium quality hunting rifle with an advanced  synthetic stock and Badlands Approach�� camo pattern at a wallet friendly price. The Vanguard incorporates a number of high end features found in Weatherby's more expensive Mark V series of rifles including a fully shrouded bolt with three gas ports on the bolt body to provide protection in the event of an ammunition failure. A recessed bolt face protrudes into the breech of the barrel, fully encapsulating the cartridge and providing an additional level of safety. The Vanguard features a 26��� Cold hammer forged, #2 contour, fluted and threaded barrel for sub MOA accuracy. A fluted bolt body helps to keep the action smooth even with the grit and grime of real world hunting while an M-16 style extractor aids in reliability. A 3-Position Safety allows the bolt to operate from a safe condition from the middle position. The Vanguard sports a two stage match grade trigger that is adjustable down to 2.5lbs.
