As of May 2018 Springfield Armory currently offers over 14, that’s right count them, 14 different 1911 handguns and they just announced a 15th addition to their 1911 line with the new TRP 1911 10mm with RMR optic. Check out the full line on Springfield's website.
1911 Mil Spec
The most basic 1911 that Springfield Armory offers is the Mil-Spec 1911. It is a full sized 1911 with either a forged stainless steel or carbon steel slide and frame. It has a 5 inch match grade barrel and also comes equipped with a mil-spec grip safety and beaver tail, hammer and trigger. While the sights are mil-spec they do have white contrast sight so that you have a better sight picture vs the traditional black bladed sights that were standard on the military issued 1911 pistols. The mil-spec pistol will also have the traditional mainspring housing, but it has been upgraded internally with the Springfield Armory Internal Locking System (ILS) which will allow the user to lock the firearm so that no unauthorized user will be able to operate the firearm without the owner’s permission. The ejection port has been improved to enhance reliability and it will ship with two 7 round magazines. Also included are a set of cocobolo wood grips and a set of polymer grips for those who may want to preserve the wood grips for special occasions. This pistol is only available in 45ACP.

What is a match grade barrel?
For those who aren't familiar, a match grade barrel is a barrel that has been matched to a specific firearm to allow the shooter to have a greater degree of accuracy than a standard barrel thus giving you a competitive edge or match grade accuracy. By having tighter tolerances and fittings the barrel will have less movement when firing thus providing a more accurate and consistent placement from shot to shot.

For the shooter who wants a 1911 with improved or upgraded parts the 'Range Officer' series might be for you.
The Springfield Armory 1911 Range Officer series is an entry level competition 1911 that has some of your most common 1911 upgrades already installed. This is a great choice for a shooter that likes to compete in many common shooting matches. The pistol comes in your choice of either a stainless or carbon steel frame and slide. The grip safety and beaver tail has been enlarged to protect the shooter from slide bite and the safety has been enlarged for easier operation. The hammer is now skeletonized and the mainspring housing will now be flat instead of curved like the GI Mil-spec model. The pistol will now have a full-length guide rod to reduce stress on the recoil spring and the trigger has been upgraded to allow the shooter to adjust the trigger to suit their shooting style. The rear sight has also been upgraded from a fixed sight to a fully adjustable target rear sight. The firearm will ship with 2 magazines and is available in a parkerized or stainless steel finish. The Range Officer series will also come configured in a Champion (Commander sized 1911) and a Compact model. The Champion and compact model will have the same features of its full-sized counterpart but the frame on the champion and compact model will have a forged aluminum frame instead of a stainless steel slide to reduce weight. The barrel has also been switched out to a match grade bull barrel will eliminates the need to have a barrel bushing to match the barrel to the frame of the pistol. The champion and compact model will both have a 4” barrel but the champion model will have a full size grip while the compact model will have a shortened grip to help with concealment. The Range officer series will also have a “Operator” version which will have the same features of the full-size Range Officer except the rear sight has been replaced with a Novak style contrast sight and a accessory rail has been added to the dust cover to allow the user the option to install a light or laser accessory to the pistol. The upgrades consist of a more corrosion resistant finish that is more durable than the standard parkerized finish and the trigger has been upgraded as well. The elite series will also have ambidextrous thumb safeties for those who choose to shoot with their left hand. The rosewood grips have also been replaced with G-10 checkered grips. They currently offer the Elite in a full size Target model (Fully adjustable rear sights), a Operator model (Full size with accessory rail), a Champion model and a compact model. Each pistol will come with a fiber optic front sight for enhanced target acquisition and will ship with 2 magazines and a range bag. Available calibers are 45 ACP and 9mm.

The Springfield Armory Loaded series is designated for the shooter that wants a 1911 that will serve equally well in both recreational and home defense applications. Each loaded 1911 will have a match grade barrel, ambidextrous safety and a set of Novak night sights for shooting in low or no light conditions. The loaded 1911 will come in the following configurations:
There are 2 versions of the Loaded Marine Corp Operator. One version will come with G10 grips and the other will come with a set of Pachmeyer wrap around grips. Both will have the unique Armory Kote finish on the slide while having the Marine Corp green colored frame and accessory rail to accept attachments for the pistol. There is a Loaded Operator variant that has a black Armory Kote frame with an accessory rail, G10 grips and night sights with an ambidextrous safety. There is a Loaded Lightweight model which will substitute the forged steel frame with a aluminum frame for a light carry option in a full sized pistol. This model will also ship with Cocobolo grips instead of G10 grips. The loaded line is completed with a parkerized and stainless steel variant with a smooth dustcover for those who desire the traditional look of a 1911. Each Loaded 1911 will ship with 2 magazines and is currently available in 45ACP.

TRP 1911
The Springfield Armory TRP or Tactical Response Pistol was created for those who demanded a 1911 that will perform without hesitation when the need arises. Each TRP 1911 is created using a forged steel frame and slide with your choice of either a match grade traditional or bull barrel based on which model you decide on. Each pistol has a checkered front strap consisting on 20 lines per inch to improve the grip of the pistol and is complimented with a set of G10 grips to provide the best grip possible on a non-custom 1911. Different models will sport some variant of night sights with either a fixed or a fully adjustable rear sight to adjust to the user's shooting style. The pistol's finish will come with Springfield’s patented Armory Kote finish which will provide many years of protection keeping the pistol safe from unnecessary wear and tear and provide quality corrosion resistance as you use your firearm for recreational or professional use. I personally own a TRP 1911 and will someday go into greater detail about my personal journey with this firearm. The TRP series is available in either 45 ACP or 10mm and will ship with 2 magazines. The 10mm 1911 TRP will ship with your choice of a 5” or 6” match grade barrel along with the option of obtaining a model with a traditional steel slide or a model that will ship with a Trijicon RMR already installed on the steel slide of the pistol.
