The All New Walther PPS M2
The all new Walther PPS M2 has just been released and we over at Gunbuyer.com are excited to tell you about the new and improved features! For a concealed carry pistol, Walther definitely nailed this one out of the park for a home run.

Comparing the new PPS M2 to its predecessor, the PPS Classic, Walther has made some significant changes. In today's world, having a compact handgun that's not only comfortable to carry, but ergonomic to shoot is key. With so many manufacturers competing head to head in the industry in efforts to design the best pistol for self defense - there is no room for error. Walther's new 2016 update to their original PPS 9mm, will definitely give other big contenders such as Glock, Springfield and Smith & Wesson, a run for their money.

In the diagram below, we have numbered the four predominate changes between last year’s PPS Classic (

  1. The Magazine Release - The original PPS magazine release featured an ambidextrous European style paddle release, however, Walther has now updated the PPS M2 to the industry standard push button magazine release.
  2. The Pistol Grip and Backstrap - As opposed the previous generation, the new PPS M2 does not have an interchangeable backstrap. However, the grip has been completely redesigned to be significantly more ergonomic, and comfortable with new finger grooves and multi-directional texturing (as similar to the Walther PPQ). Additionally,  the shooter no longer needs to remove the backstrap to de-cock and disassemble the firearm.
  3. The Accessory Rail - Walther decided to remove the accessory rail from the new PPS M2, to keep the pistol as streamlined and snag-proof as possible. Additionally, as far as aesthetics are concerned, it gives the PPS M2 a much sleeker look as well.
  4. The Slide - The new Walther PPS M2 slide is machined now with both front and rear slide serrations. For a concealed carry pistol, this is a great feature to have as it ensures a positive grip on the slide no matter where the shooter's hand is located while racking the slide to either clear the pistol, or chamber a round.

Similar to the original PPS, the PPS M2 has the same dimensions at only 6.3" of overall length, a minimal 1" wide and weighs in at only 21.1 oz - making this a great pistol for concealed carry. The PPS M2 has Walther's standard Tenifer black finish, steel three white dot sights, and a clean trigger pull of 6.1 lbs. Included with the Walther PP2 M2 are two magazines; a six round magazine for concealment and a 7 round magazine for increased comfort. An 8 round magazine may be purchased separately for increased capacity.
