Mauser is a German firearms manufacturer. Th company has been around since the 1870's producing bolt action rifles, and semi auto pistols for the German military. In about the late 19th to early 20th century, Mauser designed firearms were exported and licensed to other countries for the adoption as military arms or for the civilian market. One of the company's famous designs that has been widely copied is the Model 98 bolt action rifle.
