The Kel-Tec SU-22CA is a lightweight, modular semi-automatic .22 LR rifle engineered for affordability, reliability, and user-friendly performance. Chambered in the popular and economical .22 Long Rifle cartridge, the SU-22CA delivers minimal recoil and smooth operation, making it an outstanding choice for beginner shooters, target practice, plinking, and small game hunting. Unlike conversion systems, the SU-22CA is a purpose-built, standalone rimfire rifle based on the proven SU-16 platform. It retains many of the ergonomic and modular advantages of its centerfire counterpart while being optimized specifically for .22 LR performance. The rifle accepts most AR-style .22 LR magazines and includes a 26-round semi-transparent magazine, offering flexible capacity options in a slim, easy-to-handle design.

The SU-22CA operates via a blowback action system and features a durable 4140 steel bolt riding on steel guide rails within the polymer receiver for consistent cycling. The ejector is integrated into one of the guide rails, and the recoil spring is positioned above the barrel for efficient operation. A 16-inch barrel threaded 1/2"-28 allows compatibility with standard muzzle devices such as brakes where permitted. For accuracy and adaptability, the rifle comes equipped with adjustable iron sights windage-adjustable rear and elevation-adjustable front along with an integrated Picatinny top rail for mounting red dots or scopes. A compact forend with additional rail space supports accessories, enhancing versatility for range or field use.
