The Springfield Prodigy Gear Pac is a modern, optics-ready evolution of the classic 1911 platform, marrying single-action-only operation with a high-capacity double-stack magazine system. Chambered in 9mm, the Prodigy boosts the traditional 1911’s utility with 17+1 or 20+1 capacity options, making it well-suited for defensive carry, competition, or range use. Built on a forged steel frame and slide finished in Black Cerakote, the Prodigy offers robust strength and long-term durability. It features an exposed, skeletonized hammer with a three-position design including a half-cock setting that serves as a passive safety during manual cocking alongside the expected ambidextrous thumb safety and grip safety for added security. A loaded-chamber indicator provides quick situational awareness.

The pistol is optics-ready via the Agency Optic System (AOS), developed with Agency Arms. That modular mounting system uses interchangeable billet-steel plates with integrated rear U-notch sights matched to specific red dots for proper co-witnessing. This Gear Pac ships with a factory-installed Viridian RFX II green dot, and the iron sights are regulated for a practical point-of-aim at 25 yards. Springfield’s Adaptive Grip Texture (borrowed from the Hellcat) enhances purchase in all conditions, while a Picatinny rail on the dust cover accepts lights or lasers. The Prodigy Gear Pac also includes a range bag, three 17-round magazines, and one 20-round magazine, an attractive package for anyone looking to modernize a 1911 collection with a high-capacity, optics-capable platform.
